Kwang-Hee Im has been at Woosuk University since 2000 and is an acting representative of the World Federation of NDE Centers for the Factory Automation Research Center for Parts of Vehicles, Chosun University, from 1998 to present. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Automotive Engineering at Woosuk University. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from Chosun University in 1990, a M.S. degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from Chosun University in 1992, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Chosun University in 1997. He served as a postdoctoral research associate in the Center for NDE, Iowa State University, USA in 1998. Im's research interests are in the areas of advanced techniques for ultrasonics and nondestructive impact damage characterization in composites, Basic programs development of evaluation technique on impact collapse characteristics for vehicle bodies at collision, material characterization of impact-induced composites, strength evaluation for composite laminates using drop weight, and simulation of collapse mode for composite tubes In addition, he is presently a member of Korean Society of Nondestructive Testing, Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and Experimental Mechanics. He has obtained several certifications as follows: Machine Engineers, certified by Korean Government.
