VALERY P. LUNIN

Valery P. Lunin is Associate
Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering & Introscopy.
He received his M.S. (1974) and Ph.D. (1980) in Applied Electrical
Engineering from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical
University). From 1974 to 1977, he served as a member of the
technical staff in Laboratory of Special Magnets. Lunin's research
interests are in the area of electromagnetic nondestructive
evaluation, particularly with regard to the application of new
computer technologies (numerical modeling, signal analysis, pattern
recognition) for the study of energy/defect interactions, for
development of sensors and inspection procedures. He has developed
three introductory and three advanced educational NDE courses at
both the undergraduate and graduate level. Lunin is the author of
over 100 scientific articles in the field of applied mathematics and
nondestructive evaluation, among which 25 papers are published in
English in edited conference proceedings.
